The Haut Tubee

Saturday night when we finally got home from our long day I checked email before bed. I wondered why we would have gotten 7 new sign ups on a Saturday in January. Could be that the Haut Tubee won a gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Or it could be all the positive talk and reviews about the wine:

I love making the Haut Tubee (Hot Tub) wine. It's a lot of fun. There's still a little of the 2007 left, and the 2008 will be released this Fall.

Is the 08 in bottle yet or still in barrel?

The 08 is in barrel still. It too saw some new wood and we're deciding next week if we should bottle it in February or May. I'm leaning towards May right now. THere will be about 1/2 as much available as the 07, which is consistant with all our 08 production I'm afraid.

1/2 available across the boards? Yikes! Thank God for futures! =) -mJ

Yeah it looks like in 2008 we will have the following:

50 cases of Syrah vs 150
60 cases of Pinot vs 50
75 cases of SCV Cab vs 125

I have 8 barrels of other Cab right now, Harvest Moon, Elandrich and Chaine d' Or, haven't worked out the final blending yet but in 2007 we had 16 barrels.

WOW, that is a lot less wine, but I am sure it is all going to be fantastic! At least there is more pinot this go around! Does that mean we'll get allocated a case instead of a 6 pack? ;-) Keep up the great work guys! -Mark

we'll probably do a case allocation for futures/top 50. I'd guess the next break would be 6 for people with more than 1000 points and then likely 3 for everyone else. A lot will depend on futures orders. We usually sell about 25 cases on futures so I'd vary allocations based on those sales.

I like the sound of it already! Count us all in! ;-)
